K Health is growing like mad, and we’re so excited to welcome Dr. Jennifer Peña to the team as our first-ever Chief Medical Officer!

Dr. Peña has over 14 years experience in both telehealth and more traditional medical settings—and also practiced in the Army and at the White House! She also was on the frontlines of the COVID relief effort. She believes data-driven healthcare and all we’re trying to do at K will truly make a difference, and can’t wait to jump in.

Our medical leadership and clinician team can’t wait for her to join them as we continue to expand and scale. As CMO she also is going to work with health systems to help them incorporate virtual care via K Health’s proprietary AI. Exciting stuff!

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she received her undergraduate degree from Yale University in 2004 and her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2008. She is board-certified in internal medicine.

In addition to serving as a physician in the Army, Dr. Peña was a physician in the White House Medical Unit. She’s a professor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians and various committed focused on inclusion. She previously was Chief Medical Officer at Nurx.
