Howard Jeffries, MD
Howard E. Jeffries, MD, MPH, MBA, is attending physician at Seattle Children's Hospital and clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric intensive care. He is the medical director for Clinical Effectiveness at SCH. He has published chapters and peer-reviewed articles, with an emphasis on cardiac intensive care, informatics, outcomes assessment and quality improvement.
He is a founding member of a NIH funded multi-site Cardiac ICU research consortium. He is the co-chair of National Quality Forums cardiac surgical measures steering committee. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology EHR data standards writing committee, the Washington State Healthcare Infections Advisory Board, the advisory board for the Virtual PICU, and the multi-societal congenital heart disease database committee. He has led the development of a national cardiac ICU database. Locally, he is the vice-chair of the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) Physician Education and Compliance Committee, co-chair of the Children's Capital Equipment Committee, and a member of the University of Washington CUMG Retirement & Benefits Committee, the Children's Hospital Inpatient Access leadership team, the Medical Records Committee, and the Bloodstream Infection Steering Committee.
