What is ED?

What causes erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get or keep an erection during sexual activity. This occurs when the penile erection chambers are unable to create and maintain high pressures of blood that enable an erection. Men with ED have trouble staying firm through ejaculation. Age, high blood pressure, heart disease, stress, and more can contribute to the cause of ED.

What ED treatments are there?

Erectile dysfunction, the inability to get or keep an erection during sexual activity, happens when the penile erection chambers fail to generate and maintain the high pressures that characterize a fully hard erection. Usually, sexual stimulation is enough to get things going, but men with ED have trouble staying firm through ejaculation. Lots of things can contribute, like age, high blood pressure, vascular disease, disease, stress, and more.

Can ED medication help?

ED pills, PDE-5 inhibitors that are prescription medication, have been clinically proven to effectively treat erectile dysfunction. If you’re curious whether ED medication might be right for you, you can take the K Health assessment and chat with a K Health doctor about potentially getting a prescription.

Frequently asked questions

How does K Health treat ED?

We treat ED by prescribing oral medications that help improve erections. The providers will determine the right medication and dosage for you. Program members have access to unlimited chats with providers to discuss their ED treatment or any other health concern.

Can you buy erectile dysfunction medication online?

Yes, you can buy erectile dysfunction medication online, but you will need a prescription from a doctor to facilitate the purchase. With K Health, you can text with a doctor and get your ED prescription delivered straight to your door.

Which medications do you prescribe for ED?

We prescribe sildenafil (generic Viagra) and tadalafil (generic Cialis). Sildenafil is prescribed in 25mg, 50mg, or 100mg doses and tadalafil is prescribed in 5mg, 10mg, and 20mg doses.

Is anyone eligible to receive treatment?

  • This service is only for men between the ages of 21 and 74
  • Everyone has access to a free evaluation to determine if remote care to treat their ED could be a good fit
  • This service is available in the United States, except for Alaska, Hawaii, South Carolina, and Minnesota

How much does it cost to get treated?

Treatment with K Health means no hidden fees. The initial online consultation and medical review are free, as are any subsequent doctors chats about your ED or any other health concern. Shipping is also free. The cost of medication depends on what you’ve been prescribed, the dosage, and the number of doses per month. Sildenafil starts at $1.80/dose and tadalafil starts at $0.90 a dose. Learn more about pricing.

K Health memberships are not insurance and exclude ancillary services (e.g., labs, equipment, cost of medication, etc). See Terms of Service.

Can I use my insurance to pay for this?

No, but it’s cheaper than your insurance copay so you still win!

Can I use an FSA or HSA to pay?

Yes, prescription medication, telemedicine, and telehealth visits are eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) and health reimbursement arrangement (HRA).

You can submit a claim to be reimbursed by your FSA, HSA, or HRA provider whenever you make a payment to K Health for your medication, K Health membership (which includes unlimited Primary Care, Mental Health, Pediatric, and Urgent Care visits), specialized treatment plans, or one-time visit.

If you have an FSA or HSA debit card, it can be used to pay for one-time K Health visits or prescriptions you pick up in-person at the pharmacy. You can't use your FSA or HSA debit card for any recurring payments, which includes a K Health membership or an ED treatment plan.

How do you determine which medication to prescribe me?

For those taking ED medication for the first time, we typically recommend sildenafil at the lowest dose (25mg). You may have a preference for another medication or dosage based on previous experience, which we will consider and review to make sure it’s safe for you.

How do I cancel the program?

Submit this form we'll process your request within 24-48 hours. Cancelling your ED program membership also means you'll lose access to unlimited primary care ($9/month value) which allows you to chat with a doctor about your or your child's health concerns anytime for free.
